El Paso, Texas – On July 13, 2023, Deputies from the Deputy Peter John Herrera Patrol Station CID-TRU Team received information of an active criminal warrant on 22-year-old Alysha Marie Gandara. She was wanted for abandonment / endangering a child. CID-TRU Team Deputies made contact at the 400 block of E. Main St., Fabens, TX. Gandara was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail with a $25,000 bond.

El Paso, Texas – On July 13, 2023, Deputies from Peter John Herrera Patrol Station CID-TRU Team received information about an active criminal warrant on 48-year-old Robert Holguin. He was wanted for Indecent Assault and Indecency with child sexual contact. CID-TRU Team Deputies made contact at the 900 block of Orndorff Drive and met with Holguin. Holguin was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail with a $50,000 bond for Indecency w/child and $25,000.00 for Indecent Assault.

FUGITIVE APPREHENSION UNIT ARREST – ERNESTO VELAZQUEZ

El Paso, Texas – On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit received an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Ernesto Velazquez. He was wanted on one felony warrant for a Probation Violation/Attempt to Take a Weapon from an Officer. Deputies made contact with Velazquez at the 9500 block of Socorro El Paso County, Texas. Velazquez was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail without bond.

FUGITIVE APPREHENSION UNIT ARREST - JONAH CRUZ

El Paso, Texas – On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit received two arrest warrants for 20-year-old Jonah Paul Cruz. He was wanted on a felony warrant for a Probation Violation of Burglary of Habitation and an additional warrant for Criminal Mischief. Deputies made contact with Cruz at the 9500 block of Socorro El Paso County, Texas. Cruz was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail with a bond set at 10,000.00.

EAST MONTANA PATROL CID-TRU TEAM ARREST – PEDRO HERNANDEZ

El Paso, Texas – On July 12, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assigned to the Montana Patrol Station Criminal Investigations Targeted Response Unit (CID-TRU) concluded an investigation involving several thefts in the Montana Vista area. As a result of that investigation, warrants were obtained for 37-year-old Pedro Hernandez for Theft of Property. Deputies located Hernandez at the 4000 block of Krag Street. Hernandez was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail with a $21,000 bond.

El Paso, Texas – On Saturday, July 8, 2023, the staff from Starbucks located at 12161 Eastlake invited the Sheriff’s Office Montana Patrol Station Deputies to celebrate the one-year anniversary. Starbucks provided the public with free food and drinks. Starbucks also entertained the public with face painting, rock painting, loteria games, and held raffles. Deputies took this opportunity to interact with the staff and the public.

PJHS CID-TRU TEAM ARREST – ALAN DANIEL GUTIERREZ

El Paso, Texas – On July 11, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputies from the Peter John Herrera Patrol Station CID-TRU Team received information of an active criminal warrant on 17-year-old Gutierrez, Alan Daniel, for Burglary of Business. Gutierrez is wanted for a burglary that occurred early in the morning on July 8, 2023, at Beans & Burritos coffee shop in Fabens. CID-TRU Team Deputies made contact at 19031 Cielo Drive and met with Gutierrez. Gutierrez was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail with a $10,000 bond.

El Paso, Texas – UPDATE - On June 30, 2023, Alvaro Castaneda was booked into the El Paso County Jail for intoxication manslaughter, manslaughter, intoxication assault, and four counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon for being the driver of this crash.
El Paso, Texas – On October 24, 2021, El Paso County Sheriff's Office Special Traffic Investigators were requested to the 1200 block of S. Fabens Carlsbad Road in reference to a motor vehicle crash involving a rollover and multiple occupants that were ejected. The Investigation revealed that the driver of a Ford Mustang, who was later identified as 17-Year-Old Alvaro Castaneda of the 1300 block of Goucher Dr. in Horizon, Texas, was operating the vehicle at a high rate of speed and while intoxicated. The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, and the vehicle went off into the desert area, which caused it to roll over multiple times. The vehicle was occupied by five passengers, four of whom were ejected. As a result of the crash, a 16-year-old passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver sustained severe injuries at the time of the crash. On June 30, 2023, Alvaro Castaneda was booked into the El Paso County Jail for intoxication manslaughter, manslaughter, intoxication assault, and four counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon for being the driver of this crash.

El Paso, Texas – On July 5, 2023, Deputies from the Fugitive Apprehension Unit received an arrest warrant for 55-year-old FOX, Lester Lynn. FOX was wanted on one felony warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault Child (5 Counts) and Indecency with a Child. Deputies made contact with FOX at the 5000 block of Joe Herrera. Fox was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a 425,000.00 bond.swe

El Paso, Texas – On Friday, July 7, 2023, Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit received an arrest warrant for 44-year-old Davidson, Michael Danny, who was wanted for Robbery. Deputies made contact with Davidson at the 1800 block of Robert Wynn St. Davidson was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail for Robbery with a bond of $50,000.00.
