O’ REILLY AUTO PARTS THEFT ARREST – PICKENS AND COBB

El Paso, Texas – On September 29, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Northwest Patrol Station responded to O’Reilly Auto Parts at 6812 Doniphan Dr. regarding a theft that had just occurred. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that two individuals had stolen items over $100 and had left the premises.

Shortly after, deputies located a matching vehicle occupied by a male and a female subject matching the description of individuals involved in the theft of property at O’Reilly Auto Parts. The individuals immediately fled from deputies, and a foot pursuit ensued. Deputies and assisting agencies immediately flooded the area. The individuals were apprehended. The individuals were identified as 23-year-old Gabriel Cobb and 25-year-old Tatyana Pickens, charged with COBB: Theft >= $100<$750, Evading Arrest, and Felony Possession of Marijuana over 4 oz under 5 lbs. PICKENS: Theft >= $100<$750, Evading Arrest, POM < 2oz. They were processed and confined to the El Paso County Detention Facility.

2ND ANNUAL EL PASO FIRE DEPARTMENT FIREFEST

September 29, 2023

El Paso, Texas – On Saturday, September 23, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office participated in the Second Annual El Paso Fire Department Firefest, a community event filled with fun activities for everyone. The event occurred at Pavo Real Park on Alameda from noon to 6 p.m. Various sections within the Office attended, including Deputies from the Emergency Response Team, the Traffic Division, the COP Representative from the Northwest Patrol Station, and even Deputy Dawg made a special appearance.

The Firefest had live music, performances, food trucks, local vendors, mascots, local cheer squads, and activities for kids, among others. It was an honor to join the event with our 2018 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Motorcycles from the Traffic Division, the 2008 Armored Vehicle from the Emergency Response Team, and a display booth. We are grateful for everyone's contributions to this fantastic event!

U.T.E.P. 915 HEROES NIGHT TAILGATE EVENT

September 29, 2023

El Paso, Texas – On Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office took part in the U.T.E.P. 915 Heroes Night Tailgate at the North side parking lot of the Sun Bowl on Sun Bowl Dr. The event lasted from noon to 7 p.m. It was attended by several sections of the Office, including Deputies from the Community Services Section, the Crisis Intervention Team, the Human Resources Department, and Justice of the Peace Precinct 6 Constable Javier Garcia's Office.

The tailgate was filled with live music, food trucks, local vendors, Military personnel, Pay Dirt Pete, U.T.E.P. cheerleaders, booths, and law enforcement/first responder vehicles from various local agencies. We were honored to be there with the esteemed presence of the Sheriff's Office vintage 1953 Chevy pickup truck, the 2005 GMC Hummer, the 2015 Ford Explorer commemorating our fallen Deputy Peter John Herrera, and a display booth. This event honors all Military and First Responders who sacrifice daily to protect our Country and Communities. We thank you all for serving with pride! We are grateful for everyone's contributions to this fantastic event!

PETER J. HERRERA CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS TARGETED RESPONSE UNIT ARREST – MARTINEZ, ERIKA

El Paso, Texas – UPDATE - On September 22, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Targeted Response Unit (CITRU) Deputies from the Peter John Herrera Patrol Station made contact with Erika Martinez at her residence and were taken into custody. Martinez was subsequently booked in the El Paso County Jail with no further incident.

EL PASO, TEXAS - On September 21, 2023, CITRU Deputies from the Peter John Herrera Patrol Station obtained warrants for Martinez for two counts of smuggling of persons with a bond of $10,000.00 each.

EL PASO, TEXAS - On September 15, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Deputies from the Peter John Herrera Patrol Station and Criminal Investigations Targeted Response Unit (CITRU) received information on a burglary of habitation that had just occurred on the 1500 block of Blackfoot in El Paso County Texas. CITRU and Patrol deputies contacted the residence, reviewed home surveillance footage, and determined the location of the two subjects. After further review of home surveillance, Deputies were able to identify a third subject, identified as 22-year-old Martinez, Erika. Deputies interviewed two subjects who were Honduran citizens. Erika was detained and released later that day, pending further investigation.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE ALERT

El Paso, Texas - The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) requests assistance locating the following missing person. On September 26, 2023, at approximately 3:05 p.m., 27-year-old. Robert William Bosanko was reported missing from the area of Vinton in El Paso County. The missing person was last seen wearing an unknown color of sweatpants and a shirt (unknown color). Robert has unknown tattoos on both forearms, including two old scars on the right wrist. Robert has a sun and moon tattoo on his back and a flower on his right leg. Robert is believed to need medical assistance. Anyone with information regarding Robert William Bosanko or his whereabouts is asked to contact the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team at 915-832-4408 or dial 9-1-1.

CAREER DAY AT HORIZON HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY

El Paso, Texas – On September 21, 2023, the dedicated and committed Deputies of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office participated in a highly anticipated and impactful Career Day event. This event took place at the esteemed Horizon Heights Elementary, located at 13601 Ryderwood Ave., Horizon, TX 79928, where the deputies had the opportunity to engage with and inspire the young minds of tomorrow.

Among the esteemed deputies who embraced this opportunity were Deputy Michael Carrasco, representing the traffic motors unit; Deputy Ray Munoz, who showcased the incredible skills of his trusted K9 partner, Deputy Earl Woods; and Deputy Marcus Sarabia. These deputies brought their unique expertise and experiences to the table, leaving an indelible impression on the attendees.

Deputy Michael Carrasco, fondly referred to as "motors," captivated the audience with his extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of motor vehicles.
