NEWS RELEASE- MENTORING OUR FUTURE PROGRAM- EXTRA CREDIT RIDE ALONGS AT EMPS.
EL PASO, TEXAS – During November and December 2024, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Montana Patrol Station (MPS), offered ride-along opportunities to Law Enforcement students as part of the "Mentoring Our Future Program”. MPS coordinated with administrators from local schools so that students could receive extra academic credits. This initiative seeks to create an impactful mentorship with students in criminal justice programs at local schools within the Montana Patrol Station's command.
A total of 12 students spent the day with Deputies from the Montana Station. The students were given a tour of the Motana Patrol Station, participated during daily shift briefing, responded to calls for service with Deputies, witnessed traffic stops conducted by our Deputies, and received training on a Sheriff Deputy's daily activities and responsibilities. This relationship-building program is designed to strengthen community partnerships, establish youth outreach, and provide guidance and support to future law enforcement prospects.
