VIN ETCHING & CHILD FINGERPRINT EVENT 7.13.24
EL PASO, TEXAS – On July 13, 2024, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Peter John Herrera Patrol Station, Constables Office Pct.6, and Horizon Police Department collaborated with the El Paso Police Department Auto Theft Task Force to organize and manage a Vehicle Theft Prevention/Free VIN Etching Event at the Walmart Supercenter located at 13900 Horizon Blvd.
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etching is the procedure in which the unique identification number of a vehicle is permanently engraved onto its window surface. This process typically requires approximately 15 minutes to complete. Additionally, law enforcement officers provided complimentary child fingerprinting services to the residents of Horizon and neighboring communities.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office provides these events to give back to the community and assist parents in finding solace in the event of a missing child.
