El Paso County Deputies attend Tornillo Elementary and Middle School Career Day.

EL PASO, TEXAS – On May 3rd, 2024, Tornillo ISD extended their invitation to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office as they hosted their annual career day. Deputies who are members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) had the opportunity to interact with the young students and gave them a glimpse of what a career in law enforcement looks like. Deputies informed the students of the requirements for becoming a Deputy as well as a showcase of the different tools used to fulfill their everyday duties. Among those in attendance was CNT member Deputy E. Valenzuela, a former Tornillo ISD graduate who proudly said, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to be here and share my experiences with the next generation. I grew up in the same classrooms and seats the students were in, and now I get to give back and hopefully make a positive impact in their lives.”
