TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

El Paso, Texas – On December 14, 2021, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Montana Patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Buffalo Bill and Krag St. Upon contact with the driver, deputies detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, cocaine, and several weapons. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Angel Manuel Botello. He was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of Weapons, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additionally, Angel Manuel Botello had three criminal warrants with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for two counts of Burglary of Habitation and one count of Criminal Trespass.
