AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH DEADLY WEAPON – SAUL GERARDO CANEZ

El Paso, Texas – On September 29, 2021, at 11:45 pm. El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies were flagged down by two victims at the 13900 block of Montana. The victims stated that the driver of a gold older Saturn had pointed a gun at them. Deputies quickly began canvassing the area and located a gold Saturn that had crashed into a tree at the 3100 block of Bob Beamon. The driver of the Saturn was located walking in the desert area near the crash location. The victims positively identified Saul Gerardo Canez as the driver of the gold Saturn and as the suspect who had pointed a rifle at both victims. Canez was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond was set for $500,000.00.
