RELEASE: SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS TWO INDIVIDUALS FOR BURGLARY OF HABITATION

May 17, 2021

El Paso, TX – On Friday, May 14, 2021, Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Northwest Patrol Station were dispatched to the 1100 block of Westway Blvd. in reference to a burglary of habitation in progress.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with two individuals that were parked on the roadway on Westway Blvd. Through the course of the investigation, John Cardon, age 46, and Matthew Vargas, age 34, were found in possession of personal items belonging to the victim that were removed from their home without consent.

Cardon and Vargas were taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Burglary of Habitation, Possession of Controlled Substance PG1<1G, and Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1>= 1G<4G.
