September 8, 2023

El Paso, Texas – On September 7, 2023, Deputies from the Montana Patrol Station Criminal Investigation Targeted Response Unit of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported burglary in progress at the 900 block of Airship Place. Throughout the investigation, it appeared that an individual being sought due to an outstanding criminal warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was concealing their presence within the premises.

Deputies found Xanya Yvette Zamora in one of the bedrooms, hiding inside a box spring mattress. After Zamora was located, the homeowner, Raul Rodriguez, was arrested for Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution of a Known Felon.

After a thorough investigation, it was revealed that another individual on the premises had provided the deputies with fraudulent identification information. Daniel Peter Navarrette was apprehended for Failure to Identify. He was found to have an outstanding criminal warrant issued by the El Paso Police Department (EPPD) for Theft of Property valued at a minimum of $2,500 but less than $30,000.

Navarrette was referred to the EPPD Auto Theft Task Force for additional interrogation. Furthermore, law enforcement officials successfully retrieved a stolen vehicle that was found parked in the premises' driveway, and it was determined to be under the possession of Navarrette.

Zamora and Rodriguez were safely conveyed to the El Paso County Downtown Detention Facility without additional complications. Zamora's booking entailed a cumulative bond amounting to $250,000, while Rodriguez's booking involved a total bond of $3,000.
