May 3, 2023

El Paso, TexasOn Tuesday, May 2nd, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team attended the Endeavors Veterans Mental Health Summit. Endeavors is a family clinic that provides in-person and virtual high-quality, accessible, and integrated mental health care to veterans, regardless of role while in uniform, discharge status, combat experience, active-duty service members, and military families.

The team gained resources from regional and national leaders to better serve and support the community throughout the unincorporated areas of El Paso County. Among those leaders was United States Air Force General David Goldfein (retired), who was the 21st Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, where he shared the mental health issues within the United States Armed Forces and how they have been working to improve mental health care for their service members. Another notable leader at this event was Doctor Ragini Verma, the head of Biomarkers & Clinical Development, who shared her expertise in neuroimaging, biomarkers, preclinical and clinical analytics, and clinical translation. Traumatic brain injuries were the focus of this event, and the Crisis Intervention Team was able to network with outside agencies in a better effort to provide quality service to clients and the community of El Paso County.
