OTHER EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
In addition to the El Paso County Tuition Assistance program, there is a wide array of other services or resources continuing education students may seek from the schools directly which include online classes or financial assistance. Due to the COVID pandemic, some may elect not to attend on campus classes; however, most schools offer an online option to earn your degree. Below you may view some resources that are offered to enrolled students. To access these resources or for more information, please visit the school’s website.
Online Classes
Online classes are available through Southwest University, Kaplan College, University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso Community College and many more. You do not have to attend in person classes. Online classes will allow you create a schedule for you that best allows for a work/school balance.
Emergency aid or other financial
Utep offers Emergency Aid for Students such as the Paydirt Loan, where a student may apply for up to $500.00 and may be used for any financial challenges that may be preventing a student from staying enrolled. https://www.utep.edu/student-affairs/financialaid/index.html
Due to the Pandemic, as an enrolled student, you may apply for a grant under the CARES Act with UTEP and El Paso Community College. Upon application approval, the student may receive up to $1300 in CARES act funds. These funds are not required to be paid back! Please note, these funds are issued on a first come, first serve basis and until funds are depleted.
Students may apply for scholarships, grants, emergency tuition loans, or financial aid with applicable colleges or universities. Please visit the school you are interested in for application options.
Equipment
Computers Laptops, audio equipment, calculators, hard drives and Wi-fi hot spots equipment are available to students on lease such as UTEP, El Paso Community College and Southwest University and many more.

Emergency Book loans are available through UTEP for enrolled students. https://loans.utep.edu/launch.aspx
Dell and Apple offer laptops at a discounted price for UTEP students of up to $100.00 off.
Internet Services
AT & T offers internet services with payments based on your household income. This is available to anyone and you do not have to be enrolled as a student. https://www.att.com/internet/access/
Spectrum offers income-based Internet or free public Wi-Fi hotspots. https://www.spectrum.com/internet/spectrum-internet-assist
City of El Paso offers free Wi-Fi coverage for public use in all City Buildings, such as City Libraries. http://www.elpasolibrary.org/connect
Other Services
UTEP Food Pantry offers assistance to UTEP Students who are struggling with Food insecurity. https://www.utep.edu/student-affairs/foodpantry/
Student Health and Wellness Center offered for UTEP Enrolled students. The wellness center may offer regular physician services to include vaccinations for a fee. For a list of services, go to https://www.utep.edu/chs/shc/
Tutoring and workshops are available at most schools.
Advising is available at all schools to help students with guidance throughout your schooling.
