A MESSAGE FROM THE PURCHASING AGENT
Welcome to the County of El Paso Purchasing Department, your first stop in doing business with the County. By law, our department is responsible for buying all materials, supplies, goods, and services used by County departments and offices. All purchases are made according to state, local, and federal requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures. Methods of purchasing include both informal (written quotation) and formal (advertised, sealed) as required by law. In addition to the procurement of goods and services, the Purchasing Department also maintains, tracks, and disposes of County property and fixed assets, as well as management and operations of the print shop and mail room.
Our goal is to provide quality service, timely delivery of supplies, and cost-effective contracts to our internal County departments, while actively engaging suppliers during solicitations for these services, by using currently recognized best-practice purchasing techniques. The County is committed to an open and transparent procurement process and all interested suppliers are invited to participate.
We invite suppliers to learn more about doing business with the County of El Paso by visiting Doing Business with the County and to review the current List of Bids, which includes downloadable documents and award history. Additionally, we invite any public agency within the County of El Paso to take advantage of our Interagency Transfer Policy (Surplus Donation) by which an agency can request to obtain vehicles, computers, and other routine surplus currently scheduled for auction or disposal. Should you require more information about any topic listed herein, contact us at 915.273.3349.
