Sergio Coronado serves as the El Paso County Commissioner for Precinct 4. Precinct 4 spans from west City of El Paso to Anthony, Texas and northeast El Paso from Hondo Pass to the New Mexico state line. Since taking office, Commissioner Coronado has advocated for storm and wastewater improvements in west El Paso County, park expansion and beautification, criminal legal system reforms, and advancing workforce development.

Commissioner Coronado's primary focuses are people, parks, and the promise of improved quality of life through education and workforce training. In 2023, he spearheaded the planting of 66 trees at Gallegos Park as well as the El Paso County Promise program targeted at connecting justice-involved individuals with education and training opportunities in the community. This will eliminate obstacles to obtaining an education.

Before taking office, Commissioner Coronado served on the Canutillo Independent School District Board for over 15 years, contributing to the improvement of academics and programs for the unincorporated town's students. He was born in El Paso and has been a lifelong Canutillo resident, graduating from Canutillo High School as valedictorian. Commissioner Coronado has three children, Catherine Coronado-Ibarra, Elizabeth Ann Coronado, and Christopher Frank Coronado, all of whom are proud Canutillo High School graduates.

Commissioner Coronado holds a B.S. in Psychology with a Biology minor from the University of Texas at El Paso and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He has served as a law clerk and attorney at the Texas Attorney General's office, an Assistant County Attorney in the Travis County Attorney's office, and an Assistant County Attorney in the El Paso County Attorney's office. He has had his private law practice for over 35 years.
