If you were issued a citation in El Paso County by an agency OTHER THAN the El Paso Police Department, please contact the Justice of the Peace precinct office noted on your citation by the officer.
Each Justice of the Peace Court has original jurisdiction in criminal case where the fine does not exceed $500, and civil matter when the amount in controversy does not exceed $10,000. A Justice of the Peace may issue search and arrest warrant, conduct preliminary hearings, perform marriages, and is elected for a term of four years.
