Commissioner Leon welcomes Highlands Rehabilitation Regional Hospital during their re-grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony held yesterday evening in far east El Paso.
Following a life threatening motorcycle accident in August 2009, Commissioner Leon spent 10 days in ICU, two weeks in a rehabilitation hospital and received several months of VNA care at his home. Commissioner Leon greatly values the work of a caregiver, as he relied on a caregiver himself during his lengthy recovery. During Amerigroup’s 3rd Annual Caregiver Luncheon, Leon spoke on the critical role they play in our community, and whole heartedly thanked each and every one them for their hard work and the excellent service they provide for their clients.

Information was given on the Sportspark, county kiosks, the new homestead exemption, a Power Point presentation on impending Low-Income Vehicle Repair Assistance, Retrofit, and Accelerated Vehicle Retirement Program and other current issues were addressed.
