  • Movies by the Lake will be back again this summer at Ascarate Park! Make plans to attend a free showing of Pitch Perfect on May 15th and Big Hero 6 on May 22nd! Movies will start at 8:00 PM. Donít forget to bring your blanket and/or chair, and of course any favorite snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

  • We will also be hosting more food trucks this year, which will include: Grill on the Go, Sweet Addiction Cupcakes, Little Luna, Barking Hot Dog, Street Kitchen, Moshibox, El Jefe Mobile Taqueria, Now Kettlecorn and Kona Ice. They will all be available for you to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a movie under the stars.

  • Please note that there will be a $5 park entrance fee per vehicle and only cash will be accepted at the gate.

  • COUNTY JUDGE VERONICA ESCOBAR FEATURED AS AN OP-ED CONTRIBUTOR IN THE NEW YORK TIMES 
  • In the New York Times op-ed section, El Paso County Judge Veronica Escobar serves as a contributing author with a piece entitled, "Why the Border Crisis is a Myth."  This is Judge Escobar's third appearance in the New York Times, with her first piece having been published on October 6, 2011 entitled "All Quiet on the Southern Front.", and her second piece on February 10, 2013 entitled "Gridlock on the Rio Grande."
