Mission Statement: The Victim Services mission is to help victims prevail over trauma of their victimization by assisting and advocating for safety. The Victim Service Unit will provide information, assistance and support to victims of crime.
History: The Crime Victims’ Unit began in August of 2000 with a heartfelt mission: to support victims of crime during their most challenging moments. Our dedicated team is here to provide caring, personal services to victims and their families. We offer various support options, including crisis counseling from our friendly crisis counselor, social service referrals, financial assistance through the Crime Victims’ Compensation (CVC) program, follow-up support, justice assistance, and personal advocacy. Our goal is to help crime victims navigate through their experiences by blending social services with law enforcement support, ensuring they feel cared for and supported every step of the way.
