- Commander Jose R. Soria

Commander Jose R. Soria was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and is a proud graduate of Ysleta High School. He began his career with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 as a Detention Officer, serving in jail operations and as the Security Threat Group Intelligence Unit Coordinator. In 2010, he was promoted to Deputy Sheriff and assigned to the Patrol Division, where he worked on numerous investigative and patrol assignments and served as a Field Training Officer. He was later selected for the Fugitive Apprehension Unit. As a Sergeant, he supervised patrol shift operations, led the Field Training Program for the Patrol Division, and managed the Civil Section, Backgrounds Unit, and Sex Offender Registration and Tracking Section within the Criminal Investigation Division. Commander Soria also served on the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Task Force, where he supervised significant narcotics operations.
Commander Soria holds a Master’s degree in Administration of Public Safety and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He has achieved Master Peace Officer and Jailer Master certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and completed extensive specialized training, which he applies in his daily duties.
