Twenty four El Paso County Sheriff’s Office employees from different sections (Criminal Investigation Division, Jail Annex, Downtown Jail, Special Operations and Patrol Division) along with other Law Enforcement Agencies completed their mission this past weekend; to carry the “Flame of Hope” torch from this end of the state to the Arlington, Texas Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

This past week was a torturous one but a memorable one. After 4 extraneous days of non-stop running, bloodied and blistered, the team of (24) represented the Western Region of Texas Special Olympics very proudly. Despite the pain, the cause seemed to phase it all away with the team reaching their final destination and greeted by several Special Olympic Athletes at the UT Arlington Stadium.
