  • The mission of the Program Services section is to assist the department in the provision of services and programs that are conducive to rehabilitation of the offender.

  • While the department manages many grants, the Coordinator of Program Services provides direct support to department administrators in the management of the following grant programs: Treatment Alternatives to Incarceration, Intermediate Sanction Facility, Residential Substance Abuse Treatment, Drug Court, and Victim Services.

  • The Coordinator of Program Services is responsible for carrying out the following duties, in conjunction with department Director and administrators: Victim Services Program, program planning and implementation of new and current programs; compiling and submitting the Community Justice Plan and subsequent amendments; preparing solicitations, requesting contract services for the department, participating in the selection of contract vendors, developing the contract governing the service for the department, and monitoring contracts for compliance purposes; providing staff support regarding TDCJ-CJAD standards, contracts, and grant requirements; researching and writing grants for the department; developing realistic and attainable output and outcome measures for department programs; reviewing and modifying output and outcome measures for department programs; serving as a liaison with TDCJ-CJAD regarding program output and outcome measures, program audits, and contract monitoring; serving as a liaison with department and area service providers; and coordinating department evaluation activities.
