2008 County Employee Appreciation Picnic

County Employee Appreciation Picnic a Success

With beautiful weather, great food and good company, you could not ask for a better way to enjoy the 2008 County Employee Appreciation Picnic held May 31st in Ascarate Park.

El Paso County Judge Anthony Cobos, Commissioners Escobar and Haggerty and other public elected officials, barbecued and served hot dogs and terrific dessert dishes, while employees and their families got to know each other better and participate in the gathering and sporting events.

It was the hottest day of May and the judges for the salsa contest were already sweating, not due to weather temperatures but because of the spicy recipes competing for the first place.

Raffles and Volleyball, Golf, Tug a War and Canoeing tournaments kept the fun going.
Committee members helped with the organization of the event; booths, set up, food service, games, registration, awards and grounds cleaning.

Over 700 employees and their families attended the picnic and cooled down at the pool, enjoyed the food, ate snow cones and had a great time overall.
