  • The County Clerk is the clerk of El Paso County, the Commissioners Court and the recorder for the County. The county clerk’s office records and keeps records pertaining to the county courts, real and personal property, and personal records.  Other responsibilities include recording vital statistics; issuing marriage licenses; and administering other miscellaneous licensing and recording requirements.  The County Clerk of El Paso County is not the election’s officer of the county.  Due to the size of El Paso County, there is a separate department that handles this function.
  • Furthermore, the County Clerk is the Records Manager for El Paso County.  Exceptions are those elected officials who have designated themselves as their own record’s manager. This function is accomplished through the Records Management Administrator and archives staff. Last but not least, the County Clerk is responsible for the collection of misdemeanor criminal court costs and fines.  This is accomplished through the Criminal Fee Collections Department and staff. Currently, the El Paso County Clerk’s Office generates $13.6 million dollars in revenues each year.
