The Domestic Relations Office specializes in Family Law assistance and enforcement as authorized under chapters 202 and 203 of the Texas Family Code. We are funded by and answerable directly to the El Paso County Commissioners Court.
Are you new to family law? Are you recently divorced or separated?
Your involvement with family law could very well be the most difficult period of your life. Many professionals in the mental health field consider the end of a relationship or marriage experience worse than losing a loved one to death. Many that go through the family law court system will admit to depression, anxiety, emotional stress, and other health difficulties. Not only is divorce and separation emotionally draining but it is also demanding financially and physically.
Community Supervision (aka Probation) closely monitors those individuals found by the court to be non-compliant in an effort to keep them from being incarcerated.
FLIC was created as a pilot program made possible through a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. Its mission to provide precise information to the general public regarding rights and responsibilities under Texas Family Law. FLIC does NOT give legal advice.
