MURDER CONVICTION

El Paso, TX – On October 31, 2015, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a medical call for service at the 100 block of Dixie Canutillo, TX. Deputies discovered that while several people were attending a house party, a physical altercation had taken place between two of the people attending. As a result of the physical altercation, one person (Luis Francisco Delgado ) had received several stab wounds. Delgado was taken to a local area hospital where he later died as a result of his wounds.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded and took over the Investigation. During the Course of the investigation, Edger Cardenas was identified as the person responsible for the stabbing. Cardenas was later arrested and charged with Murder, he was booked into the El Paso County Detention facility under a one million dollar bond.

On May 08, 2018, Cardenas was tried and convicted of Murder, Edgar Cardenas was sentenced to 50 years and a 10,000.00 fine
