El Paso, TX – On November 4, 2017, at approximately 11:06 p.m. the Horizon City Police Department was dispatched to the McDonald`s parking lot at 13990 Horizon Blvd. Horizon City, Texas, in reference to a subject down. Upon arrival, Horizon City Police officers made contact with the unconscious male. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Erik Aragon of Horizon City, Texas, Aragon was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

On November 5, 2017, Erik Aragon died as a result of his injuries.

On November 6, 2017, the El Paso County Sheriff`s Office adopted the case from the Horizon City Police Department. Through the course of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit identified Shawn Ezal Ramirez age 21, Miguel Angel Ontiveros age 22, and Marcos Damian Porras age 23 as the responsible subjects for causing the death of Erik Aragon.

On December 12, 2017, as the result of a coordinated effort the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Criminal Investigation Section, Warrants Section and the assistance of the U.S. Marshalls Office and Homeland Security a total of three subjects were taken into custody.

On April 30, 2018, Miguel Angel Ontiveros age 22 plead guilty to his role in the November 2017 Capital Murder of Erick Aragon in Horizon City, Texas. Ontiveros was sentenced to 30 years.
