ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL APPRECIATION WEEK

APRIL 8 – 14, 2018

El Paso, TX – Each year, the second week of April is dedicated to the hard-working men and women serving as animal control officers.

Animal Control Officers provide essential community functions enforcing Animal Control laws, protecting the public from diseases such as rabies, and educating the public on proper care of pets. They are also dedicated to protecting the welfare of helpless animals and pets that are rescued from injury, disease, abuse, and starvation.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office commends its Animal Control Officers for the many dedicated, long hours of service they provide to the residents and animals of El Paso County. In their honor, County Commissioners read and signed a resolution declaring April 8th through April 14th, 2018, as “Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week.”
