ARRESTS FUGITIVE OUT OF NEW MEXICO

El Paso, TX – On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a wanted fugitive out of New Mexico in San Elizario, Texas.

Sheriff’s Office deputies were conducting an investigation to locate Carlos Maldonado age 31. Deputies attempted to make contact with Maldonado at a residence located in the 12100 block of Socorro Rd. when Maldonado fled on foot from deputies.

Maldonado was located shortly after and taken into custody by deputies. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and deputies seized marijuana and a handgun.

Maldonado was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with Texas charges

for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Possession of Marijuana over 4oz under 5lbs, Driving While Intoxicated, Evading Arrest. Maldonado was wanted out of New Mexico for Absconder/Escape, Intimidation of Witness, FAMV/ Battery Against Household Member, Unlawful Taking of Motor Vehicle, Criminal Damage to Property, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Negligent Use of a Firearm, Animal License Required, and Animal Rabies Required.
