UPDATE- RELEASE: EPCSO RESPONDS TO HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT IN WEST EL PASO COUNTY

UPDATE:

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators believe the vehicle involved to be a maroon in color 2013 to 2016 Hyundai Elantra as a result of their investigation.  The vehicle involved should also have front-end damage to include a broken windshield. 

The investigation remains open and ongoing.

Identity of victim is Eduardo Vasquez, 37 years of age.

El Paso, Texas - El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to I-10 West and exit 2 in reference to a pedestrian accident at approximately 9:30a.m., on Monday, January 1, 2018.

The preliminary investigation revealed a pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling west bound on I-10.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators and Crimes Scene Investigators are at the scene.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of the public who may have information on this accident. Investigators believe a vehicle of possible maroon color with damage to the front bumper, and headlights could be at fault. If anyone has any information you are asked to call 915-832-4408.
