EPCSO ARRESTS SUBJECT FOR THEFT FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

El Paso, TX – On Monday, November 27, 2017, El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a wanted subject following the robbery of a local convenience store in Tornillo, Texas.     

On Sunday, November 26, 2017, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a convenience store located on the 100 block of O.T. Smith in Tornillo, Texas following a robbery that had occurred.

The clerk advised deputies that the offender had asked them for a pack of cigarettes when the clerk opened the cash register to tend the offender his change, the offender reached over the counter and took several dollar bills from the cash register.

On Monday, November 27, 2017, Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a follow-up investigation and were able to arrest the wanted subject as a result of a traffic stop conducted on the 100 block of O.T. Smith.

Gilberto Hernandez age 27 was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Theft Prop >=$100 <$750.
