EPCSO ARRESTS TWO SUBJECTS FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

El Paso, TX – El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Northwest Patrol Station arrested two subjects after conducting a traffic stop on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.

Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of FM 259, Canutillo, Texas for a traffic violation. As deputies approached the vehicle to make contact with the occupants of the vehicle, the passenger exited the vehicle and began to flee.

The passenger Robert Ayala, age 20, was subsequently arrested by Sheriff’s Office deputies in the neighboring area. Ayala had three outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest, he was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Theft of Prop >=$2,500<$30k, Burglary of Building, Criminal Trespass, Drug Paraphernalia/Possess, Poss Marij <2oz, and Evading Arrest Detention.

The driver George Alexis Cervantes, age 27 remained at the scene and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Poss Marij <2oz.
