EPCSO EXPLORER POST 2005 – TRAINING SESSION 8/19/17

EPCSO EXPLORER POST 2005 – TRAINING SESSION

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 2005 and Community Service Section conducted a training session on Saturday, August 19, 2017.

The goal of the Explorer Post is to afford an opportunity to adolescents and young adults of the community to observe, participate and learn about law enforcement. The explorer post and its advisors provide education, training, and afford them the opportunity to begin serving the community. We will provide the explorers with sound information on which to base their decision on pursuing a career in law enforcement.

The Explorer Post and Community Service Section reviewed active shooter and bleeding control and wound management. Explorers also conducted live practice scenarios during the training session.

The bleeding control and wound management training was coordinated with the Texas Recreational Safety & Land Management, and Sheriff’s Advisory Board Member Jamil Moutran. Explorers received training from a licensed tactical/trauma paramedic on proper tourniquet use, wound packing, wound management, recognizing arterial bleeding and much more.

The Texas Recreational Safety & Land Management also presented Deputy Gonzales, Deputy Ochoa, and the Explorer Post a plaque for their continued commitment to serving our community and their recent participation in Red Sands community clean-up event.
