EL PASO TEXAS-On 09/27/13 at approximately 2:20 PM a Deputy assigned to the Strike Team Interdiction Unit patrolling north bound at the 12100 block of McCombs St., El Paso County, Texas, observed a Grey Chevrolet Tahoe with temporary buyers tags who was traveling in front of the patrol unit.  A check of the buyers tags returned with “no record” and a traffic stop was initiated.  During the stop, the Deputy smelled the odor of burnt marijuana and identified the driver as Edgar Covarrubias.  Further investigation revealed Covarrubias was in possession of 0.10 ounces of marijuana and  a fictitious temporary buyers tag. The driver stated he had purchased the alleged fraudulent tags for forty dollars on the internet due to problems with the obtaining a car title.
