SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES RESPOND TO AN MVA-ROLLOVER ON TRANSMOUNTAIN ROAD

EL PASO COUNTY TEXAS-Late this morning at approximately 11:30 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single Motor Vehicle Accident(MVA)/rollover that occurred on Transmountain Road (Reference Point 17), El Paso County, Texas. Two persons were transported as a result of the accident with non-life threatening injuries to a local area hospital. Further investigation identified the driver to be an 18 year old female and a male passenger 46 years of age.

The vehicle, a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner, was traveling westbound on Transmountain Rd. when the driver lost control of the said vehicle after one of the vehicle’s left rear tires detached. The driver crossed over onto the eastbound lanes of traffic and rolled over approximately two times. The vehicle came to a rest on the shoulder of the roadway near the picnic area. Both occupants were able to exit the vehicle and were transported by El Paso Fire Rescue Unit to the hospital with lacerations. The driver was cited for No Operator’s License. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
