EL PASO, TX- The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office/Support Services Bureau conducted a School Zone Enforcement Operation for the 2011-2012 school year. The operation was conducted to remind motorists of the dangers associated with violating the Traffic Laws of Texas that keep our children safe within the community. A total of 20 Deputies from various sections within the Support Services Bureau assisted in the operation (CALEA, Training Academy, Community Services, Backgrounds, and the Strike Team).

The operation took effect Monday, August 22nd through Thursday August 25th from 6:30 am to 8:30 am each day.

Deputies patrolled the areas in the following School Districts; Clint ISD , San Elizario ISD, Fabens ISD, Tornillo ISD, and Canutillo ISD and concluded with the following results.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens of El Paso County to remain alert, drive safe & abide by all traffic laws.

CITATIONS ISSUED: 

  • HAZARDOUS CITATIONS ISSUED: 80

Disregarding stop sign, No seat belt, Speeding, Crossing a solid line, Stopping in roadway, and Passing in a school zone

  • NON-HAZARDOUS CITATIONS ISSUED: 162

    No driver’s license, No insurance, Expired registration, Expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, and Driving with a suspended license
  • WRITTEN WARNINGS ISSUED: 7

    Various Violations 
  • ARRESTS MADE FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS: 7

    Misdemeanor Traffic Warrants
  • WARRANTS SERVED:  12

    1 Theft Warrant & 11 Traffic Warrant
