Motor Vehicle Accident Involving A Motorcycle

On 11/14/08 at approximately 2230Hrs, El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 12800 blk of Montana in far east El Paso in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Deputies arrived at approximately 2233hrs and met with witnesses at the scene. Deputies learned that Thomas Comptois, a 28 year old Fort Bliss soilder, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Montana Ave in the left lane, when a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup driven by a 19 year old female failed to stop at a stop sign and made a left turn crossing into the path of the motorcycle. Cormptois was unable to stop and collided with the truck.Comptois was transported to RETGH in serious condition. The accident is still under investigation. Charges may be pending against the driver of the 1997 Ford Ranger pickup. Speed and Alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.
